Complete Restoration
Our skilled technician meticulously remove signs of age and use, virtually erasing scuff marks, gouges, water rings, and dents. Even broken, water damaged, and burned pieces can often be repaired to “like new condition”. We restore and repair all types of furniture including antiques and specialty items, millwork, paneling, molding frames, banisters, mantels, entry doors, cabinetry, upholstery leather, and laminated surfaces. We provide home and business owners an affordable alternative to replacing fine wood furnishings and fixtures.
Replacement Parts
We have access to thousands of furniture replacement parts and reproduction parts for antiques. In the event that we are unable to find a missing wooden part for an antique our skilled craftsman will make the part in our equipped woodworking shop. Often a new look is needed and we have access to the correct hinges, drawer pulls, legs, clasps, knobs and screws to bring your heirloom back to “as new” condition.
Veneering
Veneering is the gluing of thin sheets of wood to some other underlying material like plywood, particleboard, MDF [medium density fiberboard] or wood. Veneering can be repaired through various processes that include replacement of the veneer, matching new veneers to the old veneer. When veneers split, frayed or cracked there is a tendency for the veneer to separate from the underlying material. Our craftsman are able to reattach these veneers and virtually erase any imperfection in the veneer.
Carving
Sometimes the restoration process requires that missing parts, figurines and moldings be carved to match the original heirloom, furniture or sculpture. When this is the case our skilled craftsman are able to carve the missing pieces. We take the time to match the wood’s color, graining and orientation to the original piece of furniture.
Chair Caning
Chairs are caned in two methods; either by hand or with machined caning materials. There are several caning patterns that are available for both methods and we are able to provide these services to our customers.
Kitchen Cabinet Restoration
If you want to keep your existing wooden kitchen cabinets, we can make them look great again. In working with our customers over the years, we have found that older cabinets often receive water and steam damage around the sink and dishwasher areas. Likewise the older cabinet’s hinges or door pulls have become dull or broken. Refinishing of these problem areas is economical and nothing needs to be torn or replaced in your kitchen. We can either refinish your cabinets, on site or remove all doors and drawers for restoration in our shop. In the event that minor repairs are needed, we can make these touchups on site.
Leather Restoration
Leather can often be restored when at first glance it appears to be beyond help. Splits can be rejoined, holes can be filled, weak areas can be supported, scratches and imprints can be erased, and discoloration can be blended back to the original color. Care is always taken to bring the leather back to “as new” a condition as possible.
