About Kerr Woodworks

Don Kerr, President of Kerr Wood Works learned the basics of furniture refinishing from his father during his teenage years while living in the Roland Park area of Baltimore City.

While attending McDonogh School, he was an active participant of the school’s industrial arts programs and excelled in both woodworking and art.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, attending the University of Baltimore and working in the banking industry for 30 years, he started Kerr Wood Works as a part-time business in 1988. Initially, the business concentrated on furniture refinishing/repair and making custom wooden creations for craft shows and stores specializing in country furniture.

 In 2005, Don took the business full-time and has been servicing both commercial and residential customers in: Harford, Cecil, Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Howard, counties of Maryland and in Southern York counties of Pennsylvania. Occasionally, he services the District of Columbia on a referral basis.

The company works with commercial customers in the area of furniture touch up, and repair while they assist residential customers with refinishing and restoration. To keep up to date with the latest products, techniques and finishes he regularly attends training sessions held by Mohawk Finishing Products and other finishing associations.
